Every November, men around the world take part in Movember – a global movement dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. The initiative may have started over 20 years ago as a simple bet between two friends, but it has since grown into a powerful force for awareness and positive change.

Today, Movember has raised over $800 million, funding more than 1,200 health projects in over 20 countries, all focused on improving men’s health and wellbeing.

I have personally participated in Movember since 2014, and each year it has been a thrilling and rewarding experience. What began as a way to raise funds for prostate and testicular cancer research has expanded to address a wider spectrum of men’s health issues – from mental health and suicide prevention to physical activity and overall wellbeing.

Movember resonates deeply with me because promoting better men’s health has become a personal focus in recent years. Participating is more than growing a moustache; it’s about sparking conversations, raising awareness, and inspiring men to take charge of their own health.

At Belasko, our team of “Mo Bros” embrace Movember for several reasons:

  • Support a recognised charity: Movember Foundation is a trusted global organisation with a proven track record.
  • A fun way to engage: Growing a moustache for a month provides a unique opportunity to change up your style while supporting a good cause.
  • Act differently on health and wellbeing: Movember encourages us to reflect on our lifestyle choices and make positive changes.
  • Raise awareness about critical issues: Cancer, mental health, stress, and inactivity are serious concerns, and Movember reminds us to address them in our fast-paced world.

International Men’s Day is a perfect moment to celebrate this movement and the men in our lives. By participating in Movember, we not only show solidarity with those facing health challenges but also contribute to a broader culture of awareness, prevention, and support.
